You will truly experince Korean nightlife there, isn't it what you came for? It is less oriented for tourists, than some other areas, that is why the prices are cheaper. Hongdae is perfect for young party people, so you will have an amazing time with locals.

The biggest club in the city, Club Octagon, is hosting the world’s most famous DJs every weekend. Extravagant Bugatti Syndrome club will leave you speechless with fancy mini pools, spacious dance floors, and electric atmosphere.
Hongdae is a students’ district, packed with cheap restaurants, bars, and clubs. The area is similar to Itaewon but offers a bit more of Korean nightlife style. The area is famous for crazy “club day”, the last Friday of every month, when you get access to all the clubs by paying just one cover.
A GOGOS2 club is a favourite place of students, thanks to the cheap drinks, wild parties, and amazing music. Club Vera is a spectacular place with fantastic lighting, sound, and laser system.
Sandals, shorts, and slippers are a big no in most of the places in Seoul. High heels are definitely a plus as well as the smart casual look. For guys, shoes and long trousers are highly recommended. The Gangnam district is the strictest when it comes to the dress code, while Itaewon and Hongdae are more easy-going, especially the places like bars and pubs.
The drinking age in Seoul is 19. The most elite clubs can be even more rigid so make sure to have some ID with you.
